You have all probably heard about Santorum’s winning streak this week. Well guess what, those wins did not count! Rick won the straw polls in Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri, but those are just beauty-contest numbers. I.e not a single delegate was handed in Missouri and the other two states were just in the first step of the selecting delegates-process.
The awesome news:
Ron Paul , thanks to his amazing, motivated supporters did very well this week. Paul supporters are organized and are doing a great job of gaining delegates. When the delegate count is decided, we may have come first or at least second in delegates in all three states.
Here’s an example
In one precinct in Larimer County, the straw poll vote was 23 for Santorum, 13 for Paul, 5 for Romney, 2 for Gingrich. There were 13 delegate slots, and Ron Paul got ALL 13.
In a very recent poll from Reuters, Paul came in second to Romney. Paul at 21 %, Mitt at 28 %. The best part is, Romney has dropped heavily since the latest national polls while Paul has gained 5 %. We are seeing a steady and permanent increase of support for dr. Paul.
On to some other great news:
Ron Paul has very good chances of winning in Maine this weekend. The organization of hard-working supporters are doing a great job and when looking at the total votes counted from the early caucus counties thus far, Ron Paul is leading!
This race is wide open. What we need now is a win in Maine to gain momentum, we need some kickass debating from Paul in the upcoming debates and we need all supporters to keep doing a great job. For now, we have good reasons to be optimistic.
